Policies
- Classroom Device Policy. When you are attending lectures, you are not allowed to use devices like your laptop, cell-phone, etc. You can use your iPad to take notes, but it is only for that purpose and has to be flat on the desk so as not to distract others seated behind you. Please don't make me ask you to close your laptops in class. Thanks!
- Email Policy: We will be using Ed Discussion for most of our non-verbal communication. Try to keep emails to the instruction staff at the minimum unless it's something completely unavoidable. Private Ed Discussion messages often work well as many sets of eyes can address them. You can also tag particular people in these messages.
-
Submission Lateness Policy. In general, you cannot be late. Most deadlines are a minute before midnight, Wednesday night; if you submit brown problems by noon next day, you will be penalized 1 points (out of 5). Any later will get a 0. If there are extenuating circumstances, then the instructor may consider a late submission and grade them at the very end of the course. Remember: you need to do only a subset of the problems.
- Office Hours Policy. Most office hours are group office hours which work really well. Please treat everyone (TAs, instructor, and fellow classmates) with respect and make sure everyone gets a chance to be heard. Office hours are meant to be super interactive. No pictures are allowed to be taken during office hours, even if the thing you are trying to picture is your own work
