Use agent-based modeling to address a scientific question. In particular, chose an example model from the NetLogo models library or from the community contributed models. Pick a scientific question that you believe can be addressed by the model, and use the model to address the question.
The deliverable is an approximately 3 page writeup. The writeup should contain at least the following components: 1) A description of the question regarding a real world system, with some background about the question (for instance, discussion of previous work on the question) 2) a description of the model at the microscopic level and the macroscopic observables 3) a description of findings from running the simulations, including a plot or plots (screenshotting from NetLogo is fine here) and discussion of the key takeaways from looking at the plots 4) a discussion section which addresses limitations.
You should have a short bibliography. You will at least need to cite the model that you use, and you should also include in your final paper at least one citation regarding the real world system you are studying and/or previous work on the question you are addressing.
Besides the writing, you will also be graded on your ability to use some of the vocabulary we have learned in class to frame your discussion of the models and the results.
Draft due to Writing Assistant by Friday Sept. 27 (Turn in on canvas). The writing assistant will provide feedback by Wednesday October 2. The final homework assignment is due Monday October 7.
